Meaningful activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day

(Baonghean.vn) - Towards the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2017), on July 14, localities and units organized many meaningful activities.

* Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police:

As part of a series of activities to remember the source of drinking water and towards the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Public Security Forces, the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police organized activities to visit and give gifts to families of martyrs and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in localities.

At Nghe An Center for Seriously Injured Soldiers, officers and soldiers of the Provincial Traffic Police Department visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick soldiers there. The value of gifts and objects is 5.5 million VND.

The delegation also visited, encouraged and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the area. Each gift was worth 2.3 million VND; gifts were given to families of martyrs in Do Luong district and Vinh city, each gift was worth over 1 million VND.

This has been a regular activity of the Traffic Police Department for many years.on the occasion of the TB-LS Day. The total number of gifts given this time is over 27 million VND, from the contributions of officers and soldiers in the unit.

The activities of the officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police are practical actions, showing gratitude to the families of policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services to the revolution. At the same time, it also strengthens the solidarity between the police force and the people.

* Nghia Dan District

The district has established 4 delegations led by leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee to directly visit and present 15 gifts to families of people with revolutionary contributions and those in difficult circumstances. Each gift is worth from 10 to 20 million VND, to support housing construction and production development. The total amount of money awarded this time is 270 million VND, taken from the district's Gratitude Fund.

On the morning of July 14, leaders of Quy Hop district visited and presented gifts to policy families in communes in the district.

On this occasion, Quy Hop district divided 4 delegations of district leaders to visit and give gifts to 30 policy families in communes in the district. Each gift is worth 600 thousand VND.

* Yen Thanh District:

On the morning of July 14, a delegation of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Thanh district led by Mr. Phan Van Tuyen - Chairman of the District People's Committee came to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, Road 9 and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.

At the Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery in Quang Tri province, after performing the bell-ringing ceremony, comrade Phan Van Tuyen - Chairman of the District People's Committee and the delegation of Yen Thanh district respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs. At the same time, they expressed their gratitude for the heroic martyrs who fell for the independence and freedom of the nation; the Party Committee, government and people of Yen Thanh will forever cherish that noble sacrifice, determined to promote patriotic emulation movements, and build Yen Thanh to be more and more prosperous and civilized.

Next, the delegation laid wreaths and offered incense at the National Cemetery of Road 9, Southern Laos. Before the heroic martyrs, the delegation of Yen Thanh district expressed their gratitude for the heroic sacrifices of the heroic martyrs.
