The Ministry of Information and Communications has just issued Decision No. 1701 dated October 3, 2016, stating that the press card issued to Mr. Nguyen Nhu Phong, number IBT 02523, has been revoked because Mr. Nguyen Nhu Phong has been disciplined by the governing body and removed from the position of Editor-in-Chief.
New Energy Newspaper is responsible for collecting the cards and submitting them to the Press Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) before October 12, 2016.
At the same time, the Ministry of Information and Communications also issued Decision 1702 on the temporary suspension of Petrotimes electronic newspaper, accordingly temporarily suspending Petrotimes electronic newspaper for 3 months because the newspaper had committed violations in its press activities, and was proposed by the governing body to temporarily suspend its operations.
After the temporary suspension period expires, the Ministry of Information and Communications will consider and decide on the continued publication of Petrotimes electronic newspaper in accordance with the provisions of the law on the press.
