At the conference, delegates affirmed the seriousness in the organization and implementation at each level of Party committees and organizations and the positive changes after 5 years of implementing Regulation No. 101/QD-TW, dated June 7, 2012 of the Secretariat on the responsibility of setting an example for cadres and Party members, especially key leaders at all levels. However, the results have not yet been as expected.

With a democratic, open, frank and responsible spirit, many delegates gave many opinions related to the purpose, contents, criteria and solutions to promote exemplary behavior among cadres and party members.

According to many delegates, the exemplary content of cadres and party members must start from their speech to their work and personal and family life.

Cadres and Party members, especially key leaders, must speak in accordance with the viewpoints and policies of the Party and State; speak with focus and key points, avoiding the situation where cadres in a certain position and position say everything they think is correct and force everyone to listen and comply; or speak without linking it to actions, speak without taking action, and refuse to give strong direction to carry out assigned tasks.

In daily life, we must be exemplary, including in the use of facilities, means, and even collective money; set an example in cultural lifestyle in weddings, funerals, etc.

Some opinions say that cadres and party members who set an example in practicing "diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality", democracy, courage, must make sacrifices and accept personal disadvantages.

At the same time, if we want cadres and party members to set an example, we must first set a good example and, most importantly, have good moral qualities and set an example for each other from top to bottom.

At the conference, many delegates also paid attention to solutions to effectively implement the role of setting good examples for cadres and party members. The most important of which is to continue to effectively implement Resolution 4 of the Central Committee (term XII) and Directive 05 of the Politburo on continuing to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.

A solution that also needs special attention is to step up propaganda, mobilize and motivate cadres and party members to be self-aware and consider setting an example as a personal need, a normal daily task and self-respect of each person...

Concluding the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Mai Van Chinh affirmed: Setting an example for cadres and party members is one of the Party's leadership methods through the movement "party members go first, the country follows", superiors set an example for subordinates. However, in reality, the issue of setting an example has not been implemented well, requiring continued rectification.

The Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee also emphasized that the Resolution of the 12th National Congress requires strengthening Party building and rectification, and the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee (12th tenure) requires preventing and repelling political, moral and lifestyle degradation, manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party; contributing to building a truly clean and strong Party, building a comprehensively strong political system at all levels. To effectively implement the above Resolutions of the Party, it requires each cadre and Party member, especially key leaders at all levels, to be an example of going first and doing first; thereby building and consolidating people's trust in the Party...
