(Baonghean.vn)- Voters in Thuong Son (Do Luong) petitioned that some contractors building N5 road caused environmental pollution during construction but did not take any remedial measures. They requested the province to take measures to direct the handling.

The relevant authorities responded to this issue as follows:

The road connecting N5 road of the Southeast Economic Zone to Hoa Son is a key project of the Provincial People's Committee, requiring completion as soon as possible to serve the operation of Song Lam Cement Factory. During the road construction process, there was environmental pollution affecting the lives of the people, the voters' feedback is true. To overcome the above situation, the Do Luong District People's Committee requested:

- The People's Committees of affected communes mobilize people to create favorable conditions for the investor to construct the project, coordinate with the construction unit to implement measures to limit and overcome environmental pollution.

- Nghe An Traffic Project Management Board directs contractors and construction enterprises to implement environmental protection measures, especially measures to minimize dust, noise, and vibration during construction such as: watering to suppress dust, covering construction vehicles, and limiting construction from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next morning in sections passing through residential areas.

The main sources of pollution are dust (from the process of excavation and transportation of construction materials) and noise (from the operation of construction and transportation vehicles).
