From March 31, 2023, telecommunications companies will suspend the activities of subscribers who do not standardize personal information. Taking advantage of this problem, bad actors have increased their fraudulent activities to appropriate assets.

People need to update accurate information to avoid being taken advantage of by scammers to appropriate property.

The modus operandi of the subjects is to make fraudulent calls to many people across the country in the form of informing that the called person's subscription is about to be "locked", requesting to upgrade or supplement personal information, thereby deceiving and appropriating the caller's mobile phone SIM, then taking over their bank account and e-wallet to appropriate property.

The Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention of the Ministry of Public Security recommends that people should be extremely vigilant if they receive messages impersonating network operators' brands (Brandname). Because the subjects often send messages impersonating network operators to scam unwary people, along with links asking them to update their phone subscriber information.

To learn more about Brandname messages, people need to check their phone subscriber information and update it according to regulations in the following ways: Check subscriber information by texting "TTTB to 1414"; look up information, update subscriber information on network applications (MyViettel, MyVNPT, My Mobifone...); call the network directly or go to the network's transaction point to update subscriber information.

People need to follow the above steps to standardize mobile subscription.
