Reporting to the survey team, the staff and teachers of the two schools said: Applying the VNEN model at the school shows some outstanding advantages such as students are nurtured with life skills, good collective activities, helping them to be bold in communication and social activities.
However, there are still shortcomings such as inadequate facilities, especially lack of classrooms and rooms with insufficient space. Some contents in VNEN textbooks are not suitable, the section for good and excellent students is still limited; difficulties in teaching and differentiating subjects; the connection with the 2-session teaching program is not synchronized, besides the shortcomings in linking the application of the VNEN model between levels of education.
In addition, teaching materials still have many unreasonable points. The shortage of teachers has not been resolved; the quality of teacher training is still limited; some teachers are still confused about teaching integrated subjects...

Mr. Nguyen Tat Ha, parent of a student at Nguyen Trai Primary School: Parents are still very worried about the inconsistent examination mechanism between the two teaching programs using traditional methods and VNEN; we request that competent authorities make adjustments and do a good job of communication so that parents can feel secure. |
At the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year, some parents whose children study at both schools proposed not to apply the VNEN model. Through dialogue and consultation with relevant authorities, Le Loi Secondary School is currently applying both traditional and VNEN teaching models in parallel. Nguyen Trai Primary School applies traditional teaching methods and uses both textbooks, flexibly combining the advantages of the VNEN program.
Proposing to the survey team, school representatives hope that the school will invest more in facilities to meet teaching requirements; supplement enough teachers according to the staffing level. In addition, it is necessary to change the assessment of students when teaching according to VNEN so that parents and students know the real academic ability; recommend that functional departments at all levels need to compile textbooks to guide teachers in organizing teaching; invest in facilities, supplement the staffing level of teachers; regularly train, guide, test and have specific methods of assessing students.
