Police opened fire to arrest a casino owner, gangster jumped into the river to escape

Police had to mobilize more than 60 people and fire dozens of shots to arrest a gambling den organized by a gangster.

On the afternoon of March 4, the Investigation Police Agency of Di An Town Police, Binh Duong Province, announced that the police force had just broken up a gambling den that gathered many gangs, arresting 36 suspects.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 2, the Di An town police force mobilized more than 60 police officers to suddenly raid the cajuput garden in the Chau Thoi quarry area (Chau Thoi quarter, Binh An ward) and surrounded the casino.

At the scene, police arrested 36 people who were involved in cockfighting and gambling. At the gambling den, police seized 340 million VND, nearly 1,000 USD, 2 fighting cocks, 3 cars and 36 motorbikes of various types.

The above cockfighting ring is led by a suspect named Dao Van Tai (aka Tai “scar”, 38 years old, living in Dong Nai).

Tai "scar" is the leader of a gang in the border area with three previous convictions for theft, robbery and intentional injury.

Tai “scar”’s casino chose a deserted area with a single road leading to the casino area, surrounded by streams and wild fields to avoid detection by the police.

For safety, Tai "scar" assigned his juniors Dinh Tan Dat (36 years old, living in Dong Nai) who has two previous convictions for robbery and intentional injury and Ha Van Nghia (26 years old, from Vinh Phuc) to be on guard.

When the gamblers come to participate, Nghia and Dat will inform Dinh The Truc (39 years old) and Huynh Van Tung (aka Tung "bựa", 42 years old, has a previous conviction for property theft) to use a motorbike to pick up and check the gamblers.

Nguyen Thanh Hung (alias Hung "cat", 42 years old, also living in Dong Nai) was assigned by Tai "scar" to directly participate in gambling because Hung "cat" is a "senior" in the gambling world, most of the area knows his name.

Tai's casino has been operating since Tet. For every hour of gambling, the house must give Tai "2 million VND", and cockfighting collects 5% of the amount of money for each bet.
