(Baonghean.vn) - According to predictions, the price of rubber latex in 2016 will gradually warm up after many years of continuous decline. However, at Nghe An Rubber Coffee One Member Co., Ltd., although the rubber crop is good, the price has not yet shown any positive changes.

Despite being affected by unfavorable weather and prolonged drought, thanks to good investment in care and proper exploitation of technical processes, nearly 100 hectares of rubber of Nghia Son production team, Tay Hieu 1 farm still give guaranteed productivity and quality. Mr. Nguyen Van Mau - team leader, said: This year's rubber crop is good. Compared to 2015, the amount of latex this year is more, on average 40kg of latex/day, the quality of latex also meets the prescribed density.

Nghe An Coffee - Rubber One Member Co., Ltd. has nearly 3,000 hectares of rubber. Of which, the rubber area at harvest age accounts for 2,000 hectares, the rest is in the basic construction area. Up to now, the standard latex output of the whole company has exceeded 8 to 10% compared to the same period in 2015.

However, the continuous fluctuation of latex prices in the domestic and international markets has significantly affected the company's production and business situation. Output and quality are up to standard, but the price of rubber latex continues to be at a low level, ranging from 5,000 to 5,500 VND/kg of latex. Although it has increased compared to 2015, it is still 5 times lower than the peak of 25,000 VND/kg in 2011. Meanwhile, the price of seedlings, fertilizers and all other living expenses have generally increased.

Ms. Cao Thi Mung - a worker in Nghia Son production team, Tay Hieu 1 farm shared: My income is just over 3 million VND/month. Therefore, the income of workers and laborers attached to rubber trees - once the dream of many people, is only average, if not to say struggling.

Mr. Tran Duc Tien - Deputy General Director of the company said: This year's quota of the company is 4,000 tons of standard latex, up to now, after only 2 months of harvesting, it has reached 565 tons, reaching 18% of the plan. However, the latex price has not increased, affecting the psychology and income of workers. We have directed the farms to try to ensure the regime and conditions so that workers and even staff are not shaken.

Rubber is the main crop in Phu Quy, but for many years, the unfavorable latex price has forced the company as well as 2,200 workers and many contracted households to struggle to cope. Therefore, although the latex purchase price has decreased and the workers' lives are still difficult, the rubber plantation area is still maintained.
