Chom Lom Bridge in Con Cuong is broken.
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the large flood discharge and the rapid water flow, the Chom Lom bridge pier (Con Cuong - Nghe An) collapsed and broke in two. The People's Committee of Con Cuong district is mobilizing machinery and vehicles to save this bridge.

Mr. Vi Van Quy, head of Con Cuong's infrastructure economic department, said: At 6:45 a.m. on September 1, the Chom Lom bridge in Chom Lom village, Lang Khe commune had a broken bridge abutment on the right bank of National Highway 7.
The break is about 6 meters long. This morning, the district mobilized 3 excavators and 16 trucks carrying boulders from Anh Son, Tuong Duong, and Con Cuong districts to fill the broken bridge pier with rocks, trying to "save" this bridge at all costs.

Mr. Vi Van Quy added: Currently, over 1,000 m3 of rubble has been poured at the broken point, and it is estimated that about 5,000 m3 of rubble will be needed to fill it up. After pouring the rubble, we will proceed to embank the bridge pier and pour concrete piles around the four pillars of the bridge pier.

Ms. Lo Thi Thuy - Secretary of the Lang Khe Commune Party Committee said: In the immediate future, the three villages of Dong Tien, Chom Lom, and Yen Hoa with more than 500 households cannot cross Chom Lom bridge but must go around from Tam Quang through Khe Bo bridge to get to National Highway 7.
Currently, authorities are guarding both ends of the bridge to prevent people and vehicles from passing.
