Chom Lom suspension bridge has been reconnected, more than 2,500 people can cross the river
(Baonghean.vn) - Chom Lom suspension bridge (Con Cuong) has been temporarily reopened so that people and students can travel.
The reconnection of Chom Lom bridge has helped more than 2,500 people from Chom Lom, Dong Tien, and Yen Hoa villages (Lang Khe commune, Con Cuong) to cross the river, and 167 students no longer have to travel 20 km to Tam Quang (Tuong Duong) and stay at local people's houses to go to school.

It is known that to fix the bridge pier collapse, the district has allocated over 3 billion VND to construct items, including: pouring over 3,000 blocks of stone to reinforce the foundation, embanking the bridge foundation with a length of about 100m, the bridge surface is paved with wood with a total length of 24m.
According to Mr. Vi Ngoc Duan - Vice Chairman of Lang Khe Commune People's Committee: Traffic is temporarily open, but only for people and motorbikes, while heavy vehicles are prohibited to ensure safety.

Previously, after storm No. 4, water from upstream poured down, causing hydroelectric plants to simultaneously release floodwaters at high volumes. By the morning of September 1, the Chom Lom bridge pier on the southern bank had broken, with a 6-meter-long crack.
