Celine Dion holds funeral for husband at place they married
The last wish of the husband of the famous singer "My Heart Will Go On" is to hold a funeral at the place where he found happiness with the woman of his life.
On January 15, Celine Dion wrote farewell words to René Angélil on her Facebook page: "René Angélil passed away on January 14 surrounded by family and friends, just before his 74th birthday. He will always be remembered as a gentle, generous, kind person, a visionary strategist, a gentleman. Celine Dion's representative also shared information about René Angélil's funeral, scheduled for January 22. According to the diva's husband's last wishes, the funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica (Montreal, Canada). "There, 21 years ago, he married the greatest love of his life, the artist he respected, the woman who brought him light and happiness until his last breath," the representative said.
The chapel at Notre-Dame will be open a day before the funeral for fans to pay their respects to the famous musician and manager.

René Angélil had a long battle with nasopharyngeal cancer. He was diagnosed in 1999 and was declared cancer-free after two surgeries and multiple radiation treatments. However, the disease returned and rapidly worsened in 2013.
René Angélil passed away on January 14 at his home in Las Vegas. René Angélil and Celine Dion met when the singer was 12 years old and were together for two decades. They had three sons - René-Charles (14 years old), twins Nelson and Eddy (5 years old).
