The man went crazy when he learned that he had caused an accident, seriously injuring his wife and killing his son.
The accident happened at around 10:30 p.m. on March 25 on a dark road in Zibo City, Shandong Province, China. The driver, surnamed Zhang, sped away without stopping after hitting a woman who was carrying her son on an electric scooter, according toMirror.

Witnesses immediately rushed to check on the mother and son and reported to the police. When the police arrested and brought them to the scene of the accident, Zhang was in pain when he realized that the two victims were his wife and son. An ambulance was then called to take the two victims to the hospital.

Despite the doctors' best efforts to save him, the boy did not survive due to his severe injuries. His mother is still in the intensive care unit, according to an official statement from Shandong Provincial Police.
Video footage taken by police as they led Zhang back to the scene showed the man crying nonstop when he learned the truth.

Zhang was in a state of shock when he was admitted to the hospital. He told police that on the evening of March 25, he, his wife, and son had gone to a relative’s house for dinner. On the way back, Zhang drove the car while his wife and son rode their electric bikes. Because he had too much to drink, Zhang lost control of the steering wheel.
