Parents tearfully record scene with 7-day-old baby about to die
When the doctor informed them that their baby only had 2 days to live, the Australian couple decided to remove the ventilator and enjoy every second with their child.
In January 2016, Australian photographer James Day happily captured the warm moments at the wedding of Nancy and Charlie Mc Lean. The bride was 8 months pregnant at the time but still radiant with happiness.
On March 23, he received another call from Nancy, but this time it was very sad news. She and her husband asked him to record their last moments with their 7-day-old son. Edison had been diagnosed with a rare metabolic disorder and had only a few days to live.

Two days after the doctors informed her of her first son’s critical condition, Nancy and her husband decided to turn off the ventilator to be with their child. The baby then lived for two more days without any support equipment.
The couple decided to take their son to the beach, prepare a small meal, before returning home to the welcome of family members. They had one more warm day with their son before he left forever.
"We only had 7 days to be with our little boy, but we wanted him to feel our love. When we were together, we wanted to create as much laughter as possible. I didn't want to waste any moment while he was still with us," Nancy shared painfully.
