Big fire in Nam Dan, 1 person seriously burned

(Baonghean.vn) - A fire broke out at a house in Van Dien commune (Nam Dan district) causing one person to suffer severe burns.

The fire broke out at around 3:55 p.m. today, August 13, at the house of Mr. Le Van Thang (born 1985), in Van An hamlet, Van Dien commune, Nam Dan district.

At that time, in this area, there was a 12 kg gas cylinder that was spraying gas and caught fire fiercely. The fire was spreading to the family's house and a neighboring house of Ms. Nguyen Thi Dan - Le Van Thang's biological mother.

Upon receiving the news, the fire fighting force of Fire Police Department No. 7 quickly arrived at the scene. After 15 minutes of fire fighting, the fire was completely controlled.

However, the fire caused Mr. Thang to suffer burns to his entire abdomen and chest, and burned all of his refrigeration equipment repair tools and the doors of two houses, causing estimated property damage of about 30 million VND.

According to initial assessment, the cause of the fire may have been a gas or oxygen explosion during the process of welding and repairing a refrigerator. Fire Police Department No. 7 in coordination with Nam Dan District Police continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
