Sharing experiences in drug rehabilitation work with Lao officials

(Baonghean.vn) - In Cua Lo Town, the General Department of Police has just closed a training course on drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation for Lao officials.

After 3 days of training (October 17-20), the trainees, who are officers working in the field of drug addiction treatment in Laos, were informed of a number of contents such as: The role of the police force in bringing addicts to drug addiction treatment centers; Overview of Vietnam's legal policies on drug addiction treatment; Plan to innovate drug addiction treatment work in Vietnam until 2020.

Concepts and basic principles in drug treatment and rehabilitation; Treatment of opioid addiction (neuroleptics, substitution therapy, non-drug therapy, etc.); Treatment of disorders caused by synthetic drug use and addiction; Overview of drug treatment and rehabilitation counseling; Principles and skills in drug treatment and rehabilitation counseling.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the course, Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department hoped that the information and knowledge that had been learned would partly support the Lao officers in their work. At the same time, this would be a premise to promote the good cooperation relationship in drug prevention and control between the two countries to develop further.
