Hoanh Son Temple(Ngang village communal house) was built by Thong Giam Hau Dang Thac in the 23rd year of Canh Hung (1763), to worship Uy Minh Vuong Ly Nhat Quang, the four Holy Mothers, Buddha, and saints. This is the largest communal house in the Central region, consisting of 7 worshiping rooms and 1 rear palace room. In addition to sculpture, Hoanh Son communal house also preserves 10 ancient statues (date unknown), including many genres: Buddha statues, saints, gods... made from wood, gilded with gold. This system of statues is worshiped in the back palace. According to the relic management board, the statue of Buddha atfamilyHoanh Son originated from Ngang Pagoda - an ancient pagoda in the area. During the war years when the pagoda was dismantled and relocated, local people moved dozens of ancient statues here to worship in Hoanh Son communal house. During the years when the 5th region suffered from heavy floods, the floodwaters swept away many wooden statues. The remaining statues today are only a small part of the old Ngang Pagoda statues.
