On the afternoon of August 20, 14 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded, including 11 in Da Nang, bringing the total number of patients in Vietnam to 1,007.
The National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said it had recorded 14 new cases of Covid-19, including 11 in Da Nang, 1 in Quang Nam and 2 imported cases that were quarantined immediately. Vietnam currently has 1,007 patients.
Number of cases in Vietnam:
- As of 6:00 p.m. on August 20: Vietnam has a total of 666 Covid-19 cases due to domestic infection, of which the number of new cases from July 25 to now: 525 cases.
- From 6am to 6pm on August 20: 14 new cases, including 2 imported cases that were quarantined immediately.
Information on new cases: 14 new cases (BN994-1,007): of which 12 are domestic cases (in Da Nang: 11, in Quang Nam: 01) and 02 imported cases, quarantined immediately in Khanh Hoa: 01 case and Ho Chi Minh City: 01 case).
CASES 994-998 and 1001-1006(Patient 994-998 and Patient 1001-1006) in Da Nang: aged 24-65, including: 6 cases are caregivers (5 cases at Da Nang Hospital, 1 case at Da Nang Oncology Hospital); 3 cases are F1 of previous patients; 1 case is a medical staff and 1 case is a patient at Da Nang Hospital.
CASE 999 (BN999) in Quang Nam: Male patient, 26 years old, with address in Duy Thanh, Duy Xuyen, Quang Nam, is F1 (husband) of patient 775 and (brother-in-law) patient 671, treated at the Department of Neurosurgery, Da Nang Hospital.
The patient is currently isolated and treated at the Northern Mountainous Region General Hospital of Quang Nam.

CASE 1000 (BN1000) in Khanh Hoa:The male patient, 33 years old, is an expert, Filipino nationality.
On August 14, the patient returned from South Korea to Cam Ranh Airport on flight OZ773, was quarantined immediately after entering Khanh Hoa and had his sample taken and sent to the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang with a positive result for SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The patient is currently isolated and treated at Khanh Hoa Tropical Diseases Hospital.
CASE 1007 (BN1007):Male patient, 27 years old, in Ho Chi Minh City.
On July 29, the patient returned to Noi Bai Airport from Equatorial Guinea on flight VN6 and was immediately quarantined.
After completing the quarantine period after entering the country, on August 14, the patient returned to Ho Chi Minh City to quarantine at home. His sample was taken for testing and the result showed that the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus on August 19.
The patient was isolated and treated at Cu Chi Field Hospital.
