The Government approves the national civil servant payroll in 2020
The Prime Minister has just signed Decision 1066/QD-TTg approving the payroll of civil servants receiving salaries from the State budget of State administrative agencies and the payroll of special associations operating nationwide in 2020.

Accordingly, the total civil servant payroll in 2020 of State administrative agencies and organizations, representative agencies of Vietnam abroad (excluding payroll of the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of National Defense; civil servant payroll in public service units and commune-level officials and civil servants), payroll of associations with specific characteristics operating nationwide and reserve civil servant payroll is 253,517 payrolls.
Specifically, the number of civil servants in State administrative agencies and organizations is 251,135, of which: Administrative agencies and organizations under ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government, organizations established by the Government and the Prime Minister that are not public service units have 108,368 positions; administrative agencies and organizations under the People's Councils and People's Committees at provincial and district levels have 142,767 positions; and representative agencies of Vietnam abroad have 1,068 positions.
The total number of staff of special associations operating nationwide is 686. The reserve civil servant number is 628.
The Minister of Home Affairs is responsible for assigning civil servant payrolls to each ministry, ministerial-level agency, agency under the Government, organizations established by the Government or the Prime Minister that are not public service units, and provinces and centrally run cities within the above-mentioned civil servant payrolls; assigning civil servant payrolls to each Vietnamese representative agency abroad within the above-mentioned total civil servant payrolls; assigning payrolls to each Association with specific characteristics operating nationwide within the above-mentioned total payrolls.
Ministries, branches and localities shall carry out transfers and arrangements within the total assigned staff when establishing new organizations or being assigned new tasks and streamlining staff according to regulations.
