The mildly bitter and sweet taste with rich cocoa aroma conquered the French guests present at the meeting, inviting them to explore and enjoy chocolate “Made in Vietnam.”
Imported by Delikats Company, “Made in Vietnam” chocolate is now available in France, one of the homelands of chocolate production and processing.
The story of the production and branding of Chocolate Marou is a journey of passion and creativity of two Frenchmen, Vincent Mourou and Samuel Maruta, who gave up their jobs in finance and advertising in France to come to the Central Highlands and the Mekong Delta, working with farmers on cocoa farms.
Their ambition is to create a closed chocolate production chain, from processing cocoa beans to packaging and shipping chocolate bars (called bean-to-bar in English). This form of production has never been done before in Vietnam.

To date, Marou Company has produced six types of chocolate products with cocoa content ranging from 70-78%, processed from cocoa beans supplied by six localities including Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ba Ria, Tien Giang, Dong Nai and Ben Tre.
Ms. Klervi Mandon, representative of Delikats company, the unit that introduces and imports Chocolate Marou, said that since 2011, the two founders of the Chocolate Marou brand, Vincent Mourou and Samuel Maruta, have lived in Vietnam.
They hire about a dozen farming families to grow cocoa on small plots of land, each farm about 2 hectares.
They have also built a factory located in Thu Duc with a staff of about 20 people.
Because Marou Chocolate is handmade, the price is a bit higher than industrial production, but the quality and flavor are guaranteed, meeting the needs of the high-end segment of the Vietnamese market and competing with international products.
For his part, Mr. Nguyen Binh, manager of Foyer Vietnam, feels proud that from now on Vietnam can put its name on the world chocolate map.
According to him, for many years, Foyer Vietnam has been a meeting place to explore Vietnamese culture and culinary arts. By selling Marou Chocolate products here, Foyer Vietnam is proud to contribute to promoting a high-quality Vietnamese product, not inferior to European products in the world./
