Husband pretends to die to get insurance, unexpectedly causing wife and children to die tragically
Two days after his wife and child died, a Chinese husband returned home and confessed that he had faked his own death so that his wife and child could receive insurance benefits.
SheetXinhuareported that on October 10, Ms. Daimou, 31 years old, along with her two sons, 4 years old and a daughter, 3 years old, jumped into the Qiantang River (in Xinhua, Hunan). The bodies of the three mother and children were recovered a day later.
Daimou lost her parents. When she grew up, she married Hemou (34 years old), a person from the same village. On September 19, her husband went missing and could not be contacted by phone or Wechat. Daimou mobilized all resources to search. On September 30, local people discovered a piece of a car in the Si River (Gaojia, Hunan).

Rescuers searching the riverbed found the car Hemou was driving before he died, but there was no trace of him (he borrowed the car from the company). People thought Hemou had a car accident and his body was washed away.
Suffering and not wanting to live, 10 days later, Daimou left a suicide note: "Life is short but I have no regrets. I am happy because I have your love and two children. Now that you are gone, my children and I will follow you. Our family of four will be together forever."
In the letter, Daimou also revealed the pressure she faced when her husband died, specifically the debt of tens of thousands of yuan on her credit card.
Two days after the death of his wife and children, the missing husband returned home in remorse. He went to the police station to surrender. It turned out that Hemou had secretly purchased a personal accident insurance policy of one million yuan, with his wife as the beneficiary. Hemou staged a fake car accident to defraud the insurance company. Hemou is currently in criminal detention for intentional destruction of property and insurance fraud.
