Attracting investment has achieved many successes, in the year, 12 projects were approved for investment preparation; construction was implemented such as Hai Chau II confectionery factory; continued to attract investment projects in the form of public-private partnership (TPP), industrial park infrastructure projects of the Korean Investment Association. Urban management and beautification have changed positively, to date, 36/58 criteria for type III urban areas have been completed.

Complete and organize the announcement of the planning of the Hoang Mai town coastal tourist area (1/2000), deploy the planning of 3 functional sub-areas, survey the location to plan the relic cluster of Hoa Tien cave, Con Temple, Hoang Mai 2 High School.

Organize the clearance of traffic safety corridors for roads, railways, and sidewalks; successfully eliminate handmade brick and tile kilns. Strengthen the management of land, resources, minerals, and environmental sanitation; focus on building new rural areas.

The cultural and social fields continue to change positively. The quality of education has been improved, with remarkable progress in the number of excellent students in the province and students achieving high results in the national high school exam. Labor, employment and social issues have been well resolved.

National defense was consolidated and enhanced; political security and social order and safety were firmly ensured, especially in special areas. The successful completion of the Hoang Mai town defense area exercise in 2017 was highly appreciated by the province; the movement of the entire people to protect national security was promoted and effectively implemented.

Proactively and promptly prevent manifestations and disruptive intentions of reactionary forces to avoid being caught off guard; effectively perform state management of security and order.
