"I support many countries to organize together, that will of course open up opportunities for many federations, and Southeast Asia is a region with a passionate passion for football," Infantino said.
Infantino supports a maximum of three countries hosting the World Cup, with more stadium options. The FIFA president told reporters that the World Cup would allow all countries in the world to make their dream of participating in the event a reality.
"For a single country in Southeast Asia, it is difficult to independently organize the World Cup, but for many countries, why not?", he continued.
FIFA has approved plans to increase the number of teams participating in the World Cup to 48. This increases the opportunity for developing football nations, including Southeast Asian countries, to participate in the event.
Myanmar Football Federation President Zaw Zaw revealed to the press that the Southeast Asian Football Confederation is planning to bid for the right to host the 2034 World Cup. He said: "This morning, we had a meeting about when countries in the region can host the World Cup. We are talking about 2034."
