Chairman of the Provincial People's Council: Organize extraordinary meetings to resolve urgent issues

This morning, the 10th session (extraordinary session) of the Provincial People's Council opened to address many urgent issues to serve the leadership and administration of the province.

Speaking at the opening session, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized: Based on the urgent requirements in the direction, management and operation of local authorities at all levels; based on the provisions of the Law on Organization of Local Government and Resolution 629 of the National Assembly Standing Committee guiding a number of activities of the People's Council, the Nghe An Provincial People's Council decided to hold an extraordinary session.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council said that at this extraordinary session, the Provincial People's Council will consider and discuss urgent issues that need to be decided on between the two regular sessions of the Provincial People's Council.

Including the policy on adjusting and rearranging commune-level administrative units in the province for the period 2019 - 2021; the establishment, merger, and renaming of hamlets, blocks, and villages in communes, wards, and towns in a number of districts, cities, and towns in the province.

The Provincial People's Council also reviewed and amended regulations on tuition fees in public educational and training institutions to promptly overcome shortcomings in the division of tuition fees between regions in the province; and proposed the conversion of forest use purposes, rice-growing land, and protective forest land to other purposes to implement projects in the province;

The investment policy to implement the Coastal Road Project from Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) to Cua Lo (Nghe An) aims to create conditions to exploit the potential and promote the socio-economic development of the province.

In addition, to ensure the management and operation of the Provincial People's Committee, the session will also dismiss and elect additional members of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term.

The content of the meeting is very important, the preparation time for the meeting is not long; therefore, to ensure the quality and the proposed program, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Son requested the Provincial People's Council delegates to uphold the spirit of democracy and responsibility, focus on carefully studying the contents of the submission and draft resolution submitted to the meeting, actively participate in discussions, create high consensus so that the Provincial People's Council can make correct and appropriate decisions, meeting the practical requirements of the locality.
