(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 7, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and many leaders of ministries, departments and branches attended the Grand Ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

40th Anniversary CelebrationVietnam Buddhist Sangha(November 7, 1981 - November 7, 2021) was organized online at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, connecting with connecting points in 63 provinces and cities across the country.

On the side of the VBS, there were Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dung - Deputy Supreme Patriarch, Chief Secretary of the VBS Council of Evidence; Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dam - Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the VBS Council of Evidence; along with Venerables of the Council of Evidence, the Executive Council of the VBS.

At Nghe An bridge, there were comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and provincial departments, branches, sectors and units.

On the side of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, there were Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac - Member of the Secretary of the Standing Committee of the Executive Council, Head of the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province and members of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Buddhist Sangha.

In his speech commemorating the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon - Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha affirmed that in the 40 years of growth, development, and integration with the country, Vietnamese Buddhism has never had such a future as it does today in the country and in the world.

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha is an organization representingBuddhist monks and nunsVietnam has nearly 55,000 monks and nuns at home and abroad, 18,000 Buddhist temples and monasteries, and tens of millions of Buddhist followers at home and abroad.

The Council of Evidence is the spiritual symbol of the Dharma. The Executive Council manages 13 Boards, Institutes and 63 Executive Boards of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in provinces and cities. The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has achieved many important achievements in the cause of serving humanity, promoting good life and religion, contributing to building and firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

Continue to affirm the spirit of "Protecting the nation and bringing peace to the people"

At Nghe An bridge, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee, comrade Le Hong Vinh presented a beautiful flower basket to the Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee. At the same time, he sent the best wishes to the delegates, Venerable Monks, Venerable Nuns, and all monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the province.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee respectfully commended and congratulated the results of the activities of all monks, nuns and Buddhists in the province for the cause of national unity, building and defending the Fatherland. Affirming that along with the development of Buddhism nationwide, Buddhism inNghe AnOver the past 10 years (2011-2021), many results have been achieved in Buddhist activities, actively contributing to the movement of building and developing the homeland and country.

Currently, there are 65 Buddhist establishments in the area; Party committees and authorities at all levels highly appreciate the cooperation of monks, nuns, and Buddhists in humanitarian charity work, promoting the tradition of patriotism, joining hands to help the poor and families with meritorious services, especially supporting the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic of monks, nuns, and Buddhists in Nghe An.

At the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc delivered a congratulatory speech, highly appreciating the achievements of the VBS in the past 40 years. The President also affirmed the spirit of protecting the nation and people, accompanying the nation of the VBS in all historical circumstances of the country.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc awarded the First Class Independence Medal to the representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Third Class Labor Medal to the Venerable leaders of the Sangha.
