Lao National Assembly Chairman visits Ky Son border district

(Baonghean.vn) - On June 17 and 18, Comrade Pany Yathotu - Politburo member, Chairman of the Lao National Assembly visited Ky Son district, Nghe An province.

The Chairman of the Lao National Assembly met with the Secretary of the Ky Son District Party Committee.

During the visit to Ky Son district, the delegation listened to Comrade Vi Hoe - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, briefly report on the socio-economic development of the district, especially the foreign relations of Ky Son district in recent years.

Ky Son shares 192 km of border with 5 districts of 3 provinces of Laos: Xieng Khouang, Bolikhamxay and Hua Phan.

In recent times, Ky Son district as well as other border districts of Laos sharing a common border have done a good job of leading, directing, and implementing tasks, including strengthening cooperation, jointly maintaining security and order, and developing the socio-economy in localities.

In localities sharing a common border, people from both sides of the border visit relatives normally; the special friendship between people in districts along the Vietnam - Laos border is maintained and increasingly strengthened.

Speaking at the talk, Lao National Assembly Chairwoman Pany Yathotu expressed her joy and excitement at the achievements that the Party Committee and people of all ethnic groups in Ky Son district have achieved. In particular, rural mountainous infrastructure such as electricity, roads, schools, stations, etc. have been invested in and built more spaciously, and the appearance of rural mountainous areas has improved and is increasingly developing.

He thanked the Party Committee, people and ethnic groups of Ky Son district for their warm welcome and solidarity with the districts of neighboring Laos.

The Lao National Assembly Chairman also acknowledged and highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between Nghe An province and the whole country in general, and Ky Son district in particular. He hoped that in the coming time, Ky Son district would create favorable conditions in all aspects to promote cooperation and development in all fields with districts in provinces bordering Laos, contributing to tightening the Vietnam - Laos relationship "forever green, forever sustainable".

At the same time, he also thanked comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee and provincial leaders for creating favorable conditions for this visit to Ky Son district.

Secretary of Ky Son District Party Committee presented a souvenir to the Chairman of the Lao National Assembly.

Comrade Vi Hoe - Secretary of Ky Son District Party Committee thanked her and the leaders of Xieng Khouang province and Noong Het district for their visit. At the same time, the District Party Secretary wished to strengthen the friendly and solidarity relationship, together promote economic and cultural exchanges, and maintain security and order on the border.

During the visit, the Lao delegation visited several locations where Lao predecessors and ethnic minorities in Ky Son participated in revolutionary activities during the resistance war in Muong Long commune and the border commune of Na Ngoi.
