National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue leaves for the World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Austria

Morning of September 5,Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Huewith the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly left Hanoi for Vienna, Austria to attend the 5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament (WCSP5)in the Republic of Austria, working visit to the European Parliament (EP), the Kingdom of Belgium and official visit to the Republic of Finland from September 5-11.

The official delegation included members of the Party Central Committee: Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong, Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha, Chairman of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City, Lieutenant General, Deputy Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Le Van Thanh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Republic of Austria Nguyen Trung Kien. The delegation was also accompanied by leaders of ministries, branches and assistants of the National Assembly Chairman.

The first destination of the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly is Vienna, the capital of the Republic of Austria. Here, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will have multilateral and bilateral activities and meet with leaders of parliaments of countries attending the conference.

The 5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in person will be held from September 6-9, 2021 in Vienna, Austria, as a highlight, demonstrating the efforts and determination of the Austrian Parliament, the development of multilateral parliamentary diplomacy in which the IPU plays a pioneering role, and the consensus and solidarity of member parliaments. To make the Conference effective, practical and lively, the Speakers of Parliament will speak directly at plenary discussions on topics such as sustainable development, climate change, gender equality, mitigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the role of multilateralism.
