On the morning of November 10, the National Assembly elected comrade Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly, term 2021 - 2026.
Comrade Do Van Chien, born in 1962, hometown Tuyen Quang province; has a professional degree from the University of Agriculture, majoring in crop cultivation; advanced political theory level.
Comrade Do Van Chien is a member of the 13th Politburo (from May 2024); Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committee; Member of the 11th, 12th, and 13th Party Central Committee. Delegate of the 13th, 14th, and 15th National Assembly.
Comrade Do Van Chien worked for a long time in Tuyen Quang province (old), held the positions of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, then he was mobilized, assigned and appointed by the Politburo to be Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term.
Comrade Do Van Chien has held the following positions: Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee; Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. From February 2025, he has been Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Accordingly, in Decision No. 2500, the Politburo decided: Comrade Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ceased to participate in the 13th Secretariat, ceased to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, ceased to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations for the 2020 - 2025 term; transferred, assigned, appointed to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term.
Comrade Do Van Chien is currently a delegate of the 15th National Assembly, belonging to the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province.
