Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee met with the delegation of medical staff and doctors returning from Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of September 25, Nghe An Department of Health held a meeting with a delegation of medical staff and doctors who had completed the task of reinforcing the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee sent the best wishes to 60 "white-shirt soldiers" of the provincial health sector after successfully completing the mission of reinforcement for Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, he acknowledged, highly appreciated and praised the spirit of self-sacrifice for the people of Ho Chi Minh City of the medical staff and doctors in the delegation.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the fourth wave of the epidemic is very complicated, especially in the southern provinces, with the epicenter being Ho Chi Minh City. Right from the first days when the epidemic was complicated, responding to the call of Ho Chi Minh City, the provincial health sector, with the spirit of mutual love and support, called on officials in the sector to join in reinforcing the southern provinces to participate in the fight against the epidemic.

Of these, 60 officers and soldiers returning this time are the first group, departing on July 12 and completing their mission on September 18. In Ho Chi Minh City, these officers performed their mission at Trung Vuong Hospital. This is a converted hospital to treat Covid-19 patients on the 3rd floor of a 3-storey tower. The hospital is tasked with treating 1,000 patients in severe and critical condition with underlying diseases.

“The mission of the delegation is extremely meaningful when the children of Uncle Ho's hometown fight to prevent and control the epidemic for the city named after Uncle Ho. You have shown your personal feelings and responsibilities, but through that, you have also shown the feelings and responsibilities of the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province towards Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces. Therefore, you are not only the pride of the health sector but also of the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province”.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee was truly moved by the sacrifices and hardships of those working in the medical field in the fight against the epidemic. At the same time, he shared the difficulties and pressures of work as well as the dangers of the epidemic for the staff in the delegation. In fact, 2 staff in the delegation were infected with Covid-19, but after recovering, they continued to return to work.

"The cadres in the delegation have participated in an unprecedented fight against the epidemic. And the delegation's contributions have so far yielded results when many critically ill patients have been saved and the epidemic situation in Ho Chi Minh City is progressing positively, when the number of new infections, severe cases, and deaths has decreased," emphasized comrade Nguyen Duc Trung.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also expressed his gratitude to the relatives and families of the 60 officers, doctors and nurses who sympathized and shared in allowing them to carry out their duties in Ho Chi Minh City for the past 65 days.

Providing quick information on the Covid-19 epidemic situation in the province, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that as of September 25, the province recorded 1,818 infections, especially since August 14, there have been more than 1,300 infections, including many community cases. With the spirit of determination, effort, drastic, synchronous, timely intervention, and support from the people, the Covid-19 epidemic in the province has been basically controlled to this point. To achieve the above results, the health sector has played a very important role.

Emphasizing the spirit of not being complacent and not being subjective, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung said that the risk of an epidemic is always latent and can break out at any time, in any locality. Therefore, the entire political system, in which the standing agency is the health sector, must always be proactive in epidemic prevention and control.

The head of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that after returning to work at the unit, the delegation of medical staff and doctors will continue to promote their sense of responsibility and practical experience in the past time; together with the provincial health sector, continue to implement effective measures to prevent and control the epidemic, maintaining the achievements that have been achieved. The health sector and hospitals will create conditions for the comrades to demonstrate their capacity, pay attention to the regime and policies so that the comrades can work with peace of mind.

The Director of the Department of Health said that up to now, Nghe An province has had 6 delegations, with more than 300 medical staff and doctors, reinforcing the southern provinces and this is the first delegation to return. "The comrades in the delegation have excellently completed their tasks, completed their professional goals, returned safely, and have been thanked, recognized, and highly appreciated by the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Health Department," said the Director of the Department of Health.

Emphasizing that the fight against the epidemic is still long and has many potential risks, Director of the Department of Health Duong Dinh Chinh hopes to continue to receive the attention, direction and close support of the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee in the work of epidemic prevention and control.
