Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh visited and extended New Year greetings to the border commune of Mon Son
On the morning of January 16, comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province visited and extended New Year greetings at the border commune of Mon Son, Con Cuong district.
Accompanying were comrades of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Dang Thanh Tung - Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Thom - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command and representatives of the leadership: Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee.

As a highland, border commune with many socio-economic difficulties, the Party Committee, Government and People of Mon Son commune have promoted the revolutionary tradition, where the first Party cell in the Western region of Nghe An was established in 1931, joining hands and hearts to build the homeland.

By the end of 2024, Mon Son commune will have achieved 13/19 criteria for new rural construction, 7/14 villages will be recognized as meeting new rural standards; there will be 1 brocade weaving village and 1 community tourism cooperative recognized as OCOP products; average income per capita will reach more than 33 million VND/year. Culture and society will be taken care of, hunger eradication and poverty reduction will be paid attention to. Security and order will be ensured.

In particular, being a border area, bordering Xay Cham Pon district, Bolikhamxay province (Laos), the political system and people of the commune and officers and soldiers of Mon Son Border Guard Station have closely coordinated and well performed the task of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security on the 36.5 km long border line, with 7 national border markers under management.

The station has synchronously and effectively deployed border protection measures, well controlled the situation on the border and inside the border, maintained political security, order, social safety and prevented and fought crimes; conducted many joint patrols, at the same time, maintained good friendly relations, creating a favorable environment for people on both sides of the border to visit relatives and do business.
Talking with leaders, cadres, people and officers and soldiers of the armed forces stationed in Mon Son commune, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh informed about the outstanding results of the province's socio-economic situation in the past year; acknowledged the results that Mon Son commune has achieved and sent New Year greetings to the Party Committee, Government, People of Mon Son commune and the armed forces stationed in the area.

Affirming the policy of the Party, the State and the province to always pay attention to social security, especially for poor and disadvantaged households, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Mon Son commune to take care of Tet adequately for the people, especially in the villages far from the center; ensure traffic safety, fire and explosion prevention; at the same time, organize Tet and Spring activities that are truly healthy for the people. The Police, Military and Border Guard forces carry out the guard duty plan to ensure that the people are happy, warm and safe.

Regarding the orientation in the coming time, noting that Mon Son is a commune with a high rate of poor and near-poor households, accounting for 35%, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh suggested that the commune continue to implement solutions to reduce poverty; in particular, with the advantage of having the Police, Military, and Border Guard forces in the area, Mon Son commune needs to coordinate with these forces to build and promote highly effective livelihood and production models; along with that, strengthen the work of ensuring security and order, keeping the commune clean of drugs; carry out foreign affairs well with Laos, especially through the village-to-village twinning model.

Preparing for the coming of Tet and Spring, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee wished the leaders, cadres, and people of Mon Son commune and the officers and soldiers of the Police, Military, and Border Guard in the area a warm Tet and a happy Spring; unite to successfully implement the goals of the Commune Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, continue to promote the cultural and historical traditions and potentials in the area, actively consolidate the political system to prepare and organize the new term Commune Party Congress, determined to help Mon Son commune escape poverty.
Preparing to celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh presented gifts to the District Military Command, District Police and Mon Son Border Guard Station; Commune Police, Mon Son Commune Military Command; presented 50 gifts to 50 poor households in Mon Son Commune, Con Cuong District and Mr. Ngan Giang Noi - a prestigious person in the community.

Also in Mon Son commune, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh visited, presented gifts and wished a Happy New Year to Mr. Ha Van Thanh, born in 1945, a 4/4 war invalid in Nam Son village. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee warmly talked to him, asked about his family life, and highly appreciated Mr. Ha Van Thanh's dedication and contributions.
