Mr. Dung shared: This year is the 10th year I have been assigned to referee the most prestigious tournament for children and teenagers in the province. I always consider it an honor and strive to do well in every match. For this age group, there are many differences compared to professional football teams because the children are young, very carefree, and the tense situations are also much less than with the seniors, so the referees are also very comfortable every time they referee because they want to create all conditions for the children to express their love for the ball."

“However, this is also a very sensitive age, so my refereeing perspective is always objective and transparent, both judging situations and instructing the players on skills and lessons that can be applied later. For malicious and brutal fouls, in addition to warnings, we must still strictly punish them to create a spirit of fair play in football, only then will they be more mature if they follow a professional path in the future,” referee Duong Viet Dung emphasized.

This year, the referee team of the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament consists of 20 members, including 2 referees currently working at the V-League, the highest level of the National Football Championship in the country. In addition, there are referees who have worked at the National First and Second Division Football Tournaments, and youth tournaments. The referees are all experienced and have participated in professional tournaments, thus ensuring that the matches of the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament are held honestly and objectively.

Referee Nguyen Dinh Thai - Head of the Referee Team of Nghe An Newspaper Cup this year said: The members of the team had met and agreed on professional matters before the tournament started and were all thoroughly informed about the tournament regulations. For specific situations, the team also brought them up for discussion and agreed on the most appropriate way to handle them.

To ensure objectivity and honesty, referees are not assigned in advance for matches, but only decided on which referee will take charge of which match just a few minutes before the ball rolls. This will minimize the "coordination" between referees and teams. In addition, depending on the nature of each match, referees will be assigned; for example, referees in the final and semi-final matches will be the most senior, most prestigious referees, working in the most professional football environment to judge the match as impartially as possible.

In addition, the refereeing team also agreed that referees whose hometown or residence is in a certain locality will not officiate matches in which that locality is playing. In case of any suspicious cases regarding the referees or teams, the Organizing Committee will immediately verify and handle them according to regulations.

Referees have also been thoroughly informed and reminded to limit contact and closeness with the coaching staff of the teams. When not on duty, members of the referee team must be present to monitor the progress of the matches to gain experience, especially when controversial situations and issues arise.
