(Baonghean.vn) - Every afternoon, thousands of storks fly back to perch on the white-flowered xoan trees at the foot of Ngang Mountain, Khanh Son Commune (Nam Dan), creating a rare, peaceful beauty. Recently, local people have also been actively protecting the stork garden.

Early in the afternoon, when they had just flown back from the fields, the storks gathered in large numbers on the mahogany trees in Nguyen Dinh Cong’s farm, each tree had hundreds of storks. Cong said that his family has been raising pigs, fish, snails... here for 10 years now. Storks are considered beautiful birds, especially white storks. Places where storks choose to stay long-term in large numbers are often lands with "favorable weather, favorable terrain, and favorable people" and people who are kind and love nature.

Storks are quite smart, as soon as they detect strangers or strange noises in their habitat, they will make a fuss and fly into the air. Mr. Cong added that in the past, many bird trapping groups from different places came to ask him to cooperate in trapping storks in his garden, paying the cost or splitting the product... but he did not agree. In the late afternoon, flocks of storks at the foot of Ngang Mountain often move into the farm area of Pham Van Thi and Nguyen Duc Quang's family and stay overnight. According to Pham Van Thi (43 years old), his family's xoan garden is located between two fish ponds, the road is difficult to access, so every afternoon the storks come back to perch, making a lot of noise. Like Cong's family, his family also loves flocks of storks and actively protects them. "We do not hunt storks and prohibit people from coming here to hunt storks in any form," said Thi.
