French expert talks about the West's mistake in pursuing the 'dream'
Imposing sanctions against Russia is a serious mistake by the West, said Caroline Galacteros, Doctor of Political Science, Colonel of the French Army's Operational Reserve.
"I believe that sanctions are ineffective and counterproductive... This is a serious geopolitical mistake. Frankly, this is an old dream of the United States and the United Kingdom - to cut off Europe from Russia in order to weaken the Eurasian continent, which has always been considered the center of the world," Sputnik quoted Galakteros.

Now, according to her, the question arises about the possibility of continuing to support Ukraine, which has become politically and economically bankrupt, but Western leaders do not want to admit it.
After Russia launched a special military operation to demilitarize and de-fascize Ukraine, the West increased sanctions pressure on Moscow.
European Union countries are considering abandoning Russian oil and gas. Many countries have announced freezes on Russian assets and called for a break from Russian energy. All this has become a problem for the US and Europe, causing sharp increases in fuel and food prices.
