Spring crop production in 2020 is forecasted to take place in difficult conditions, being directly affected by climate change, climate laws are broken, making it difficult to forecast and warn; extreme, complex, unpredictable weather, production is at risk of damage due to weather; pests and diseases are likely to arise and cause strong damage.
With the target of reaching 695,500 tons of food, in the 2020 spring crop, the whole province strives to plant 90,000 hectares of rice (of which 40,000 hectares are quality rice); 17,500 hectares of corn, 13,000 hectares of vegetables and beans of all kinds...
Accordingly, based on the planning and specific production conditions of each region, localities develop plans and arrange appropriate crop structures, varieties and seasons; increase investment in comprehensive intensive farming...
At the same time, promote production linkages between individuals, businesses and farmers to increase sustainable production efficiency. Build many models of applying science and technology on crops such as IPM, ICM, SRI, GAP, ... to gradually build product brands to increase value and stabilize production, creating trust for consumers.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu emphasized: In fact, for many years, farmers in many localities in the province have often planted crops earlier than the recommended crop calendar, which will make crops susceptible to adverse weather effects, even causing loss of productivity. Localities must strictly rectify this situation, recommending farmers to strictly follow the crop calendar issued by the Department of Agriculture based on the calculation of all related factors.
The Plant Protection sector must also do a good job of forecasting and providing synchronous pest and disease prevention solutions right from the beginning of the season to minimize damage. The Irrigation sector and localities must have proactive plans to cope with droughts, especially in the downstream areas, semi-mountainous areas and mountainous areas. In particular, further strengthen the management and inspection of the production and trading of plant varieties and agricultural materials.
On that basis, the entire agricultural sector is flexible and determined in directing production; maximally exploiting and promoting all resources for the 2020 spring crop, ensuring safe production, achieving high productivity, quality and efficiency.
