Girl found husband by posting status "randomly"

As the wedding day approached, Kieu Kieu still couldn't believe that the man she was about to marry was once a stranger. From the day they met until they decided to get married, to Kieu, everything was like a dream. The 25-year-old girl recalled the status she wrote "randomly" on social networks and wondered: "What kind of fate helped people who 'lived in virtual life' step out into the real world to fall in love?"

"My husband said he didn't know how to "flirt". It was my complaining status that made him think I was sad and wanted to be comforted. From then on, he made friends, found excuses to text me and planned to conquer me," Kieu shared.

In early 2017, Kieu Kieu graduated from medical school but could not find a job, she was bored and wrote her feelings on a Facebook group. Many people commented to comfort the young girl, including Viet Hung, a 31-year-old man currently working at the Vung Tau oil rig.

A few months later, Kieu was fortunate to be accepted to work at a hospital in Dak Lak. At the same time, Hung continuously texted her asking for advice on a medical dilemma he was facing. Kieu did not like to share with strangers but was especially enthusiastic when talking about work. Knowing that Hung was struggling with the health condition of his relative, she spent a lot of time explaining and giving advice to a friend she had never met.

The conversation between Hung and Kieu was extended by sharing about life, hobbies, and relationships. Every night, the Vung Tau boy called Kieu to confide in her. Hung worked on the rig so the phone signal was very weak. The conversation was sometimes mumbled or interrupted but the two still found a way to confide in each other. 20 days later, Hung asked permission to go to Dak Lak to visit Kieu Kieu. He arrived on the day Kieu was busy on duty so he had to wait from 4am to 8am to meet her. The date went smoothly, Kieu took her new friend to visit some places in Dak Lak. The Vung Tau boy enjoyed watching the coffee fields stretching out, he exclaimed that he "fell in love" with this land the first time he visited.

The brief visit ended quickly, Hung returned to the rig to continue working and did not forget to keep in touch with Kieu. Every day, through 1-2 hour phone calls, Hung revealed the reason that urged him to text and get to know Kieu. That day, Hung was impressed by her humorous way of expressing sadness. He briefly thought, perhaps Kieu was depressed and wanted to be shared and comforted, sosent a friend request. After a while of following, when Kieu got a job, Hung was happy and immediately made up a reason to have a chance to chat.

Hung worked at sea in shifts, each shift lasting 20 days. Every time he got to shore, the first thing he wanted to do was catch a bus and travel more than 400 km to visit his girlfriend. Kieu felt sorry because every time he went to Dak Lak, Hung had to wait for several hours to half a day for his girlfriend to finish her shift. Seeing Hung's patience and sincerity, Kieu agreed to be his girlfriend after meeting him twice.

At the end of 2017, Hung had to have surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome, so he had to take a month off work. During this time, instead of resting, he asked Kieu's parents' permission to come over to help harvest coffee. Since their daughter worked far away, the family had to work a lot, so Kieu's family agreed. Hung took advantage of this opportunity to score points with his girlfriend's parents and persuaded Kieu to accept his proposal.

Kieu Kieu agreed to marry Viet Hung after he came from Vung Tau to Dak Lak to visit her three times.

Kieu confided that her parents admired her future son-in-law's honesty and diligence. He was clumsy but enthusiastic, often observing how Kieu dried coffee and then imitating him. When it suddenly rained, the couple ran "into the smoke" to find a tarp to cover. Seeing his lover flustered and sweating, Kieu felt more sorry for him. That was the third time Hung went to Dak Lak to visit Kieu, and it was also the time she agreed to marry him.

Kieu smiled and said that her love story was "virtual" like what people often see on social networks. Kieu's parents did not believe that their daughter would fall in love with a guy she had never met before in such a "different" way. Kieu herself easily felt Hung's seriousness and sincerity the first time he traveled a long way to wait for her at the hospital gate. When she decided to get married, Kieu wrote on the Facebook group to thank him for bringing her to Hung. Many people commented that Kieu's love story inspired young people to continue searching for real love in the virtual world.

The girl from Dak Lak shared: "After getting married, we still loved each other through Facebook. He continued to work on the rig, I stayed at home, texting or video calling each other every day until my phone ran out of battery to talk."
