(Baonghean.vn) - At the National Assembly Delegates' Conference meeting with voters in Huu Kiem Commune, Ky Son District, people from Huoi Tho, Dinh Son 1, Dinh Son 2 villages (Huu Kiem Commune) expressed their indignation at the situation of fetal trafficking. Voters requested that the National Assembly, the Government and relevant agencies issue regulations to prevent this type of crime.

Before entering the official content, on behalf of the provincial National Assembly delegation, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien informed voters about the expected program of the 8th session of the 14th National Assembly.

Voters were also provided with some basic information about the results of socio-economic development in the province and the country since the beginning of the year.

Concerns about hydropower plant flood discharge and bottom discharge

Voters of Na Luong 1, Na Luong 2, Huoi Tho, Dinh Son 1, Dinh Son 2 villages (Huu Kiem commune) proposed that the State have a policy to support cement for rural traffic construction; support investment to build a rigid bridge across Nam Mo river and a road to avoid Muong Xen town.

Voters in Hom village reported that schools in the area have been in disrepair for 10 years but have not been upgraded or repaired. People in Khe Ty and Na Chao villages requested that authorities have a mechanism to monitor and inspect the downstream impacts of hydropower plants in the district.

People are worried that hydroelectric plants will release floodwaters and bottom discharges, causing floods, landslides in houses and crops, and negatively impacting the ecosystems of rivers and streams in the area.

In particular, voters in Huoi Tho, Dinh Son 1, and Dinh Son 2 villages expressed their indignation and concern over the complicated situation of fetal trafficking. This situation appeared a few years ago and is still secretly happening.

Voters request the National Assembly, the Government and relevant agencies to issue specific regulations and have solutions to prevent this new type of crime. In particular, there should be support policies but at the same time, warning and deterring pregnant women who go abroad to give birth and then sell their children for money.

In addition, voters of Huu Kiem commune also reflected on issues related to the program to support breeding animals and livestock under the 30a program; the situation of oversized and overloaded vehicles causing traffic infrastructure degradation; safety of rural and mountainous power grids; and many shortcomings in the loan policy for the clean water and environmental sanitation program...

At the conference, relevant agencies, departments and branches explained and clarified issues proposed and reflected by voters.

Strengthening propaganda and dissemination of law to the people

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation shared the opinions of voters of Huu Kiem commune; at the same time, he acknowledged the efforts of the people in joining hands to develop their homeland, from a particularly difficult commune to reaching 16/19 new rural criteria, the poor households reduced to 27.9%.

Sharing with voters about the issue related to the flood discharge activities of hydroelectric plants, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien said that after the flood discharge incidents in previous years, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation had reported to the National Assembly and the central and local ministries and branches. Thanks to that, many arising issues were promptly handled.

Regarding the environmental pollution situation in the area, delegate Nguyen Thanh Hien affirmed that the handling will be reported to the authorities, but voters should also be more aware of preserving the living environment around them - this is the key issue of environmental protection and ecosystem protection in the area.

Particularly related to fetal trafficking, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien emphasized that this is a new and very dangerous type of crime that can have long-term effects on the sustainable development of the community and the cultural identity of the people.

The National Assembly has also pointed out localities where many of these types of crimes appear, including Nghe An. The most effective solution currently, according to the Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, is for Ky Son district, Huu Kiem commune and relevant agencies to strengthen inspection, propaganda and dissemination of laws.

Huu Kiem Commune (Ky Son - Nghe An) has a natural area of ​​over 7,500 hectares; 9 residential villages with a population of 4,836 people, of which the Thai ethnic group accounts for 50%, the Kho Mu ethnic group accounts for 40%, the rest are Kinh and Mong ethnic groups.
