Gambler jumps out window to escape arrest by police

On October 11, Tan Ky District People's Court opened a criminal trial against To Ba Quang (residing in Tan Dong hamlet, Dong Van commune, Tan Ky) for the crime of "Gambling".

According to the indictment, at about 8:30 p.m. on February 11, 2018, To Ba Quang, Tran Van Sang, Dinh Trong Tuan, and Tran Quoc Doan went to To Ba Hai's house in Tan Dong hamlet, Dong Van commune to visit Pham Thi Nuoi (Hai's mother), who was sick.
Then, the four of them started gambling by shaking the dice, betting each game from 50,000 VND.up to 100,000 VND. A moment later, Pham Viet Hoa and Cao Thanh Tra arrived and joined in gambling.
At about 11:20 p.m. the same day, while the subjects were gambling, Nghe An Provincial Police raided and caught them red-handed, seizing 34.3 million VND.and related items. Morning, Doan, Tuan, Quang jumped out the window and escaped.
On February 26, 2018, Sang, Doan, and Tuan surrendered to Nghe An Provincial Police. Quang fled the area until August 10, 2018, when he was arrested by the Investigation Police Agency of Tan Ky District Police under a wanted notice in Dat Do Town, Dat Do District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province.
The investigation determined that the amount of money the defendants used for gambling was 14.3 million VND. To Ba Quang alone used 1.8 million VND for gambling.
The People's Court sentenced To Ba Quang to 7 months in prison.
