Drug addict fights back against traffic police when discovered trafficking drugs

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 29, the Traffic Police Team of Ky Son District Police, while on patrol and controlling traffic, discovered and arrested a subject transporting drugs.

Accordingly, at about 2:30 p.m. the same day, the Traffic Police working group of Ky Son District Police was on duty on National Highway 7 in Chieu Luu Commune, Ky Son District when they discovered a man riding a motorbike with license plate 89 H7 0401 with many suspicious signs and signaled him to stop for an administrative check.

A search of the subject revealed a plastic bag containing a white powder suspected to be heroin hidden in his wallet. Knowing he was being arrested, the subject tried to fight back against the task force in an attempt to escape but was later subdued and arrested.

Through the investigation, the suspect was identified as Lu Van May (born in 1974), residing in Minh Thanh village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong. May confessed that the heroin was purchased from a stranger to resell for profit. The evidence is currently being appraised to determine its weight to have a basis for handling the suspect.

It is known that May is a long-term addict. She is currently being detained for further investigation.
