Nghe An police seized more than 20m3 of illegally traded wood
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Provincial Police's Economic Police Department has just inspected a number of locations with signs of illegal trading and storage of forest products, seizing more than 20m3 of sawn timber.
From the work of grasping the situation, the Economic Police Department (Nghe An Police) discovered a number of locations with signs of illegal trading and storing of various types of forest products, so they coordinated with the Dien Chau District Forest Protection Department to conduct inspections.

Thereby, a record was made of 26 wooden boards (equivalent to 5m3) at the house of Pham Thi Thu (born in 1973) and 33 wooden boards (equivalent to 4m3) at the house of Ms. Dinh Thi Ly. Both reside in the market hamlet of Dinh, Dien My commune (Dien Chau).
Also at Dinh market hamlet, Dien My commune, authorities seized more than 10 cubic meters of ownerless wood including sen, tau mat, vang tam, chua nhiet... hidden in a deserted area.
Currently, the Economic Police Department of Nghe An Public Security is coordinating with the forest rangers to urgently verify the owner of the 10m3 of wood mentioned above, and at the same time complete the administrative penalty file for the establishments that illegally trade and store wood.
