Nghe An Trade Union continues to promote the care and protection of workers

One of the important contents of the conference is to report on the summary of activities in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2022.

Accordingly, as of May 31, out of 15 targets assigned by the Presidium of the General Confederation of Labor, Nghe An Trade Union has exceeded 3 targets, completed 2 targets (reaching 100%), and 10 targets are continuing to be implemented until the end of 2022.

The Provincial Labor Federation has carried out many activities to implement the theme of the year "Caring for jobs and lives of workers; striving to fulfill the highest goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union", Instruction No. 53/HD-TLĐ dated March 28, 2022 of the General Confederation on implementing the theme of trade union activities in 2022.

Work to develop union members,establish grassroots unions,associated with consolidating and improving the quality of grassroots trade union activities according to Plan No. 135/KH-TLĐ dated September 24, 2021 of the General Confederation of Labor, achieving remarkable results.

As of May 31, the province has newly established 14/20 grassroots unions, reaching 70% of the 2022 plan, newly developed 11,710/15,600 union members, reaching 75% of the 2022 plan, updated 12,450/160,294 union members, reaching a rate of 70.15%. Up to now, 5 batches of union membership cards have been printed with a total of 28,631 cards.

In addition, the implementation of the Action Program to implement Resolution 02-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Innovation of organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation", organizing activities to celebrate the 136th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1), Workers' Month 2022 associated with Occupational Safety and Health Month 2022, the Program "1 million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic" ... has also been concretized with many practical activities, recognized by Party committees, authorities, union members, workers and laborers.

From the achieved and unachieved results, the members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor together recognized, evaluated, and pointed out objective and subjective causes. Many additional opinions and suggestions were recorded to propose solutions to implement 9 key tasks for the last 6 months of the year.

Attending the conference, comrade Hoang Dinh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission acknowledged the results achieved by Nghe An Trade Union in the first 6 months of the year, especially the role of caring for workers and coordinating the direction of resolving collective work stoppages.

He also affirmed the importance of the dialogue program between the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and workers organized by the Provincial Federation of Labor. In the coming time, he hopes that Nghe An Trade Union will continue to fulfill the set targets, especially in the work of developing union members to prepare for the Trade Union Congress at all levels in 2023.

Assessing the results of the first 6 months of the year, comrade Kha Van Tam pointed out 5 results, 4 outstanding marks and shortcomings and limitations of trade unions at all levels. Assessing that there are still many difficulties and challenges in the last 6 months of the year, the Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor directed that trade unions at all levels need to grasp the situation of union members, workers, civil servants and employees; Review the deployed targets and directives to thoroughly grasp, supervise the implementation and completion; Focus on evaluating the implementation of Resolution 02 of the Politburo on innovation of trade union organizations; Deploy guidance for the work of the Trade Union Congress; Continue to carry out the task of establishing grassroots trade unions and developing union members.

Looking back at the results achieved inWorkers' Month 2022The conference acknowledged the propaganda and organization work of trade unions at all levels in the peak month of May. Activities to care for and represent and protect workers' rights were focused on and effectively implemented.

Some activities are creative, innovative, and have highlights such as: Organizing dialogues and forums "Workers for business - business for workers", "Come to the workers' boarding house", "Zero-dong stall", "New rhythm dance" contest, "Elegant youth"... created a big buzz.

At the conference, members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Union also gave comments on the Report on assessing the decentralization of trade union financial work for the period 2018 - 2021 and the Project "Improving the quality of Collective Labor Agreements".
