The Internal Affairs Committees of provinces and cities need to improve the effectiveness of detecting and handling corruption cases in localities, overcoming the situation of "hot above, cold below", preventing the phenomena of extortion, harassment, and causing trouble for people and businesses when handling work. That is the direction of Mr. Phan Dinh Trac - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee at the online conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year with the Internal Affairs Committees of 63 provinces and cities held this morning (July 18).
Since the beginning of the year, the Internal Affairs Committees of localities have proactively grasped the situation, advised the Party Committees to lead and direct the effective handling of emerging issues related to political security, social order and safety, especially mass complaints and sabotage activities of reactionary organizations, with 108/408 cases handled. Among them are many serious and complicated cases related to corruption and economic cases, which have attracted public attention. To date, 60/63 Internal Affairs Committees have been assigned as the standing agencies of the Steering Committee for Judicial Reform in localities.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phan Dinh Trac - Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee said: Under the leadership of the Party, the work of preventing and combating corruption continues to be implemented synchronously and strongly. The results achieved in recent times are creating a new and exciting atmosphere among cadres and people. Currently, hostile forces are carrying out many sabotage activities, causing political insecurity and social order and safety in many localities.
In the coming time, Mr. Phan Dinh Trac requested the Internal Affairs Committees of provinces and cities to proactively advise and propose to help Party committees effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; resolve outstanding issues regarding mass complaints, cases with petitions and reports of wrongful convictions; prevent, stop and promptly handle subjects that incite, incite and disrupt social order and safety./.
