On July 26, comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, and a delegation visited Nghe An to offer flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs.

At the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site, comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission and the delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense to the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh.

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh paid special attention to soldiers, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and relatives of martyrs. Every year, on July 27, he personally sent letters, gave gifts, visited wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, and paid tribute to heroic martyrs at cemeteries.

The cemetery is the resting place of 2,241 martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation, defending the Fatherland and carrying out international missions in Laos. In the cemetery, there are hundreds of graves of martyrs whose names are unknown or whose names are known but whose hometowns are unknown.

The Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission and the delegation expressed their sincere respect and deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their youth and blood for the independence, freedom, peace and development of Vietnam, for the noble and steadfast international friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Truong Bon, a sacred land, a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism, where the blood of comrades and compatriots was shed in the long march to liberate the nation and unify the country.

During the resistance war against the US, Truong Bon was the place where hundreds of thousands of young men fought with great enthusiasm during their youth, crossing Truong Son to save the country; young men and women who brought their 18 and 20 years old to the war with all their optimism, desire to live and responsibility for the country. 1,240 outstanding sons fell on the legendary road, typically the heroic sacrifice of 13 young volunteers of Company 317 on October 31, 1968.

In the sacred atmosphere, comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee and the delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate and express deep gratitude at the mass grave of 13 heroic martyrs of the Youth Volunteer Company 317 and at the Memorial House of 1,240 heroic martyrs.

At the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac and the delegation offered flowers and incense at the Temple of Uncle Ho and the heroic martyrs; and the Monument of Heroic Martyrs.

With the tradition of remembering the source of water when drinking, and remembering the person who planted the tree when eating fruit, the Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission and the delegation respectfully bowed to express their infinite gratitude for the great sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who fought bravely and sacrificed for the noble international friendship on the battlefields in Laos.

During the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts on international missions in Laos always fought bravely side by side with the people and army of Laos.

Many cadres, soldiers and experts have fallen in Laos. The heroic sacrifice of these martyrs reminds us to always be proud of our nation's glorious past and the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

The Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery was built in 1976 on an area of ​​nearly 7 hectares and is the largest cemetery gathering the graves of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos.

This is also the only cemetery in Vietnam named after two countries and two peoples, Vietnam and Laos, and is a symbol of the loyal solidarity of the two brotherly peoples.

Since its construction, the cemetery has received and cared for nearly 11,000 graves of martyrs from 47 provinces and cities across the country who sacrificed their lives on the battlefield in Laos and are now resting here.
