Golden City Joint Stock Company: A beautiful gesture towards the Western region of Nghe An
(Baonghean) - Since the beginning of 2017, Nghe An Newspaper and Golden City Joint Stock Company have had a working coordination regulation, according to which every month Golden City Company sponsors funds for health check-ups and free medicine distribution for poor households and policy families in the area. The priority address that the working group is aiming for is the districts of Western Nghe An, a land with many difficulties and people's lives are still lacking...
The first stop on the journey to bring gifts from Golden City Joint Stock Company to the Western region of Nghe An was the mountainous district of Ky Son. With a distance of nearly 300 km, the trip was an interesting experience for many members of the group. Although the route was quite far, many members and young doctors of Vinh Transport Hospital were very excited to join the trip. Everyone was conscious of arranging their professional work during the week to complete, so that they could leave on the weekend.

The location for this examination is Ta Ca commune, about 5 km from Muong Xen town. Ta Ca is a border commune, with difficult roads. The subjects examined are the elderly and poor households of the commune. Mr. Luong Van Hoan - Chairman of the Commune Elderly Association could not hide his joy when welcoming the delegation: "Since hearing the news that the delegation would come to examine and provide medicine, the members have been waiting and anxious, because for a long time, whenever people get sick, they have had to travel many kilometers through the forest to get to the hospital. Therefore, when hearing the news that a delegation of charity doctors would come to the place, examine each specialty, then consult, explain the results in detail and be given medicine to take, the people were very happy."
Not only Mr. Hoan but also many elderly people in Ta Ca commune were taken for full medical examination by their children and grandchildren. Mr. Kha Van Son (73 years old) in Ban Canh said: Due to his old age, he often suffers from high blood pressure, back pain, etc., when he received an invitation, he asked his grandchildren to take him to the examination station. Normally, he could have gone to the district hospital for examination, but it was far away and bothered his children and grandchildren, so he was reluctant to go. This was an opportunity to check his health and receive free medicine.
These are also the thoughts and feelings of more than 65 poor elderly people who were examined by the delegation this time. Through the examination, the delegation helped the elderly detect some symptoms of the disease and advised the subjects on effective treatment directions. Mr. Vi Van Man - Vice Chairman of Ta Ca Commune People's Committee said: "Because the examination delegation took place on the weekend, the commune had to prepare carefully, survey and make an accurate list of subjects for examination. We hope that charity delegations will visit more remote communes, including Ta Ca commune, to provide primary health care for the people."

The second point on the journey towards the Western border is the mountainous district of Que Phong, about 200 km from Vinh city. Compared to Ky Son district, Que Phong district has more favorable traffic conditions, but that does not mean that people, especially the extremely poor households and families with meritorious services, have much access to medical services. Practically responding to the month of action to honor the wounded and fallen soldiers, veterans who participated in the fight and served in the fight in 1972 at Quang Tri Citadel, living in Que Phong area are the first priority subjects.
As soon as the news came that a working group from Nghe An Newspaper, Golden City Company and Vinh Transport Hospital would come to directly examine and provide medicine, not only were the veterans happy and excited, but the leaders of Que Phong district also welcomed and supported them.
Doctor Nguyen Trung Hieu - Head of the medical examination and treatment team, Transport Hospital said: “As a later generation, knowing about the 81-day and night battle at Quang Tri Citadel through books, newspapers and stories of veterans, I deeply admire the will and extraordinary bravery of the Citadel veterans. Today, young doctors and members of the new working group are honored to meet these brave examples in their homeland. After completing their mission, most of them have returned to normal life, their lives are full of difficulties but they still maintain the qualities and integrity of Uncle Ho's soldiers. Now that they are old and weak, many diseases have arisen, they really need timely examination and encouragement.”

Mr. Ha Van Nam - Chairman of the Association of Ancient Citadel Soldiers of Que Phong district said: "The whole district has 122 former soldiers of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, with time, the number of members has gradually decreased. Currently, only about 20 people have pensions and war invalids; the rest have returned to farming and gardens, life is still difficult".
Mr. Lang Van Han, 70 years old, in Hua Na village, Thong Thu commune, said that he joined the army in June 1968, and spent 3 months fighting and serving in the Quang Tri citadel. In August 1977, he was discharged from the army and returned to his hometown. Due to the difficulty in traveling, he only went to the district hospital when he was seriously ill. When the Liaison Committee of the Citadel Veterans Association informed him that a doctor from the provincial hospital would come to examine him, he took a bus nearly 45 km to arrive a day early, to wait for the examination and also to meet his old comrades. Like other comrades, Mr. Han was examined by doctors, prescribed prescriptions, and given advice on medication, so he felt more secure.
Ms. Truong Tuyet Mai - Vice Chairman of Que Phong District People's Committee said: In the past, many delegations came to examine and provide medicine, but this is the first delegation to directly examine and provide medicine to the former soldiers of the district's Citadel. We are very grateful for the good deeds and the heart of the delegation in general and the sponsor in particular. Although the local Party Committee and government have paid attention, the lives of many families with preferential policies and veterans are still difficult. The district is looking forward to the support of sponsors so that families with preferential policies can reduce their difficulties and access medical services in the most convenient and best way.
Mr. Mai Duc Thinh - Head of Administration Department of Golden City Joint Stock Company, representing the sponsor, said: As a company specializing in real estate, social and charity activities are only carried out on holidays. Although the work is quite stressful and tiring, when there is a schedule to do charity work, especially in the West, everyone wants to go immediately. Through its activities, in the coming time, the Company hopes to continue to join hands and contribute to support policy families and poor households in the West to reduce difficulties and improve their lives.
