Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company tested the 3,000m long conveyor belt
(Baonghean) - In recent days, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company, a member of The Vissai Cement Group, has been conducting a trial run of a 3,000m long conveyor system extending out to sea to supply cement and clinker to ships with a capacity of up to 70,000 tons. This line is expected to officially come into operation in early October 2017.
According to the original plan, Nghi Thiet Seaport (Nghi Loc) serving 70,000-ton ships and the 3,000m conveyor system of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company would be put into operation in August 2017. However, due to high waves during storm No. 2 in July 2017, which washed away the entire bridge abutment and broke the cargo conveyor system that had been basically completed, the operation time had to be delayed by nearly two months.

After more than a month and a half of mobilizing human resources, machinery and equipment to repair the wharf abutment and drill bored piles to support the conveyor system near the sea, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company has completed the workload and is ready to put this system into operation. In late September 2017, according to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tai - Executive Director at Nghi Thiet Grinding Station and Seaport, the unit organized many test runs (without load) of the 3,000 m conveyor line.
“Through trial operation, it shows that this system is running well, ready to supply cement and clinker to ships entering Nghi Thiet port. According to the plan, in early October, this system will be officially put into use, meeting the demand for supplying goods to the Group and the company's customers,” Mr. Tai excitedly said.

At the same time, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company accelerated the construction progress of the second line of Nghi Thiet Cement Grinding Station. Up to now, the infrastructure items have been basically completed and are entering the stage of installing equipment imported from Germany. According to the plan, by the end of 2017, the second cement grinding station of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company will be put into operation with a Clinker grinding capacity of 300 tons/hour, contributing to improving the production capacity of the company.
