Nghe An Electricity Company: Strengthening solutions to reduce power loss

With a large area and a large number of customers, reducing power loss is considered a "difficult problem", but Nghe An Electricity Company has implemented specific solutions, thereby improving production and business efficiency and ensuring reliability of power supply.

Determining the target of reducing power loss is the decree of Vietnam Electricity Group and Northern Power Corporation. Recently, Nghe An Power Company has had many solutions focusing on reducing power loss. The Company's leaders and the Steering Committee for reducing power loss have met and discussed to come up with the most optimal solutions.

Specialized departments have analyzed data related to power losses such as public losses, line losses, total unit losses, etc. to determine the exact cause, in order to find reasonable solutions for business, technical, investment activities, etc.

In addition, the Power Loss Steering Committee also assigned specific tasks to specialized departments such as: Strengthening guidance, inspection, urging, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implementing power loss reduction work at Power Companies and 110kV Teams; Increasing working hours at Power Companies with large output/high losses and Power Companies with abnormally increased medium-voltage power losses compared to the same period...; Issuing documents to promptly correct the shortcomings of units in business operations that have affected loss work in the past time.

The Company has also established special working groups to directly support the Power Companies and increase human and material resources to complete the work of replacing meters, standardizing customer information... according to the direction of the Northern Power Corporation. At the affiliated Power Companies, conduct a general inspection of customers on high-loss lines, to promptly detect customers with abnormalities in electricity metering, to advise specialized departments and Company leaders to invest in preventing losses at the right point and appropriately.

The results of reducing power loss in the third quarter of 2020, the whole Company achieved 6.24%, of which: 110kV grid loss was 2.93%; Medium and low voltage grid loss was 4.21%. Specifically, the accumulated loss in the first 9 months of 2020 that Nghe An Power Company achieved: The total loss of the Company was 8.46%; down 0.08% over the same period and exceeding the plan assigned by the Corporation (TCT) by 0.54%. The loss on the 110kV grid was 2.12%; down 0.11% over the same period and exceeding the plan assigned by 0.03%. The loss on the medium and low voltage grid was 8.19%; up 0.25% over the same period and exceeding the plan assigned by the Corporation by 0.89%.

With the goal of achieving the power loss targets: 110kV grid loss 2.17%; Medium and low voltage grid 7.30%; the whole Company 7.93% according to the plan assigned by the Corporation, the Trade Union of Nghe An Power Company launched the emulation movement to reduce losses in the whole unit, organized propaganda, dissemination, thoroughly grasped the tasks and encouraged the spirit so that all employees share all difficulties, join together with the highest responsibility, the collective of employees of Nghe An Power Company strived their best to complete the 2020 plan targets, especially the power loss target.
