Traffic Police Department recommends people not to play Pokemon while driving

Affirming that using a mobile phone to play Pokemon Go while driving is illegal and dangerous for the user and others, the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) recommends that people give up this habit.

Faced with the phenomenon of Vietnamese youth having a fever with Pokemon Go, playing it anywhere, even while driving, Major Ta Thi Hong Minh, Deputy Head of the Law Propaganda and Guidance Department, Traffic Police Department, said that the gameThis is very dangerous for traffic participants because it requires users to move. Pokemon are everywhere, from parks, shopping malls or squares, to high-rise buildings, houses, even in the middle of the road.

"Pokemon Go or any game has two sides, good or bad depends on the user. To avoid unfortunate things that may happen, people should absolutely not play while driving," Major Hong Minh advised.

According to Major Hong, many people driving with one hand and playing Pokemon Go on their phones with the other, eyes focused on the screen, not paying attention to what's around them.Many young people even suddenly stop in the middle of the road just to catch Pokemon. "Using a mobile phone while driving is very dangerous, causing insecurity for yourself and others.So give up this habit immediately, play when in the best condition," he emphasized.

On August 6, Pokemon Go appeared in Vietnam, creating a fever.In Hanoi, young people in the past few days have gathered in public areas such as Thong Nhat Park, Thien Quang Lake, especially around Hoan Kiem Lake to play Pokemon catching game.

Captain Nguyen Minh Duc, Deputy Head of Traffic Police Team No. 1, Traffic Police Department of Hanoi Police, said that as of the morning of August 10, around Hoan Kiem Lake, there were 23 cases of illegal parking that were recorded.Police checked the offenders' phones and found many people playing Pokemon.

According to Decree 46/2016, drivers of cars and similar vehicles who use their hands to use mobile phones while the vehicle is running on the road will be fined from 600,000 to 800,000 VND.Motorcyclists and motorbike drivers (including electric motorbikes) using mobile phones will be fined from 100,000 to 200,000 VND.
