AdolescenceThe age from 10 to 19 is a special period of development with a series of rapid changes in physical, psychological and social relationships. This is the stage considered as the "transition" from child to adult.
At this stage, children are very interested in exploring their own abilities and expanding their relationships. If not properly informed, they are at risk of: early sexual intercourse, unsafe sex, sexual abuse leading to sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS, unwanted pregnancy, unsafe abortion, etc.

In addition, during this period, children have special psychological characteristics such as liking to try new things and exploring their own abilities. Therefore, during the development process, children constantly face challenges and risks. If they are not properly cared for and guided, they may deviate in morality and lifestyle, affecting their studies and future career development, and have a great impact on the population quality of the whole society.
In reality, adolescents still have a serious lack of knowledge about reproductive health and do not understand their own bodies. In schools, although there are subjects such as Biology and Civic Education, the knowledge is still limited to theory. The need to propagate and popularize reproductive health is very important, especially in the current context when the Internet always has a two-way impact on children's awareness, in which there is still a lot of negative information.

One of the methods to help raise awareness and change behavior is to promote propaganda, with coordination between schools, families and society, especially bringing sex education into the environment closest to children, which is school.
With the above meaning, in order to raise awareness and understanding for students in adolescence and young people, the communication session on reproductive health care - Family planning is a very practical activity.
Through this, students have been provided with a lot of useful knowledge about puberty, reproductive health care, behavioral skills in the face of psychological changes, ways to avoid sexual abuse, and avoid unwanted pregnancies. At the same time, it helps students prepare a good mindset about reproductive health issues while still in school.

Strengthening the propaganda of reproductive health for students is also a task that the Nghe An Department of Population is interested in. Since the beginning of the year, the Department of Population - Family Planning has organized 24 extracurricular activities at schools on reproductive health care, prevention of unwanted pregnancies, prevention of sexual abuse and school violence for adolescents and young people in high schools and middle schools.
