Successfully rescued 7 Nghe An fishermen in distress in the Gulf of Tonkin
(Baonghean.vn) - After more than 10 hours of traveling and searching at sea, struggling with big waves and strong winds, SAR 411 discovered and approached fishing boat NA 95069 TS, assisted the boat, and provided health care for 7 crew members to bring the boat and crew members back to shore.
At 1:00 a.m. on March 8, 2018, fishing boat NA 95069 TS operated by Mr. Le Van Quy (residing in Son Hai commune, Quynh Luu district) was fishing in the common fishing area between Vietnam and China when the engine broke down and could not be repaired, so he called the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center for help.
Upon receiving the information, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center instructed the ship on measures to stabilize the ship while waiting for the rescue force to arrive to assist, reassured the crew, and asked the captain to regularly keep in touch with the rescue force to update the ship's location and status.

At this time, the Gulf of Tonkin sea area is being affected by the strengthening Northeast monsoon, so the sea is very rough, posing a risk to the lives of the crew. With the decisive and prompt direction of the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the Center has mobilized the SAR 411 ship on duty in the northern sea area to conduct emergency rescue.

By 1:00 p.m. on March 10, 2018, the maritime rescue force had brought all 7 crew members of the NA 95069 TS ship safely to Cua Lo port, Nghe An and handed them over to local authorities./.
