Successfully rescued a man who suffocated and fainted at the bottom of a well
(Baonghean.vn) - While dredging a well, a man suffocated and fainted at the bottom of the well. Fortunately, he was successfully rescued by the authorities and local people. The incident just happened in Thanh Giang commune (Thanh Chuong).
Mr. Tran Dinh Tho - Vice Chairman of Thanh Giang Commune People's Committee said that a gas suffocation incident had just occurred at the bottom of a well.
Accordingly, on the morning of June 26, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hung (50 years old), residing in Bach Ngoc hamlet, Thanh Xuan commune (Thanh Chuong) with his wife and a local worker organized a well dredging at Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quang's house in Giang Tien village, Thanh Giang commune.
After draining the well, Mr. Hung went down to work. However, not long after he went down, the people above discovered that he had fainted at the bottom of the well. At that time, people dropped tree branches and used electric fans to blow down the well, but to no avail.
After receiving the information, Thanh Giang Commune Police quickly arrived at the scene to organize rescue. The plan to use a dust blower combined with an oxygen pump to the bottom of the well was immediately implemented and brought about results. At about 8:15 am, Mr. Hung was able to get himself out of the well.
“Upon receiving the information, I directed my colleagues to take this measure immediately. When I arrived at the scene, the victim in the well had started to move, showing good signs,” Mr. Tho shared.
Mr. Hung's health is now stable. It is known that Mr. Hung has been digging and dredging wells for many years. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quang - the owner of the well said that his well has been dug for many years. A month ago, he called a group of workers from the neighboring commune to dig about 3 more meters, the total depth of the well is about 13 meters. On the night of June 25, it rained heavily, the well collapsed, so this morning he called a group of well diggers from Thanh Xuan commune to come and clean it again.
"The last time we dredged the well, a person working in the well also showed symptoms of mild dizziness. This morning, Nguyen Quang Hung's condition got worse and he fainted at the bottom of the well," said Mr. Quang.
