The wall - security fence between the Russian - Ukrainian border in Crimea has been built.
The construction of the fence in the Russian-Ukrainian border area has been completed, the press service of the FSB Crimea border department said.
The construction of engineering structures and the installation of the most complex alarm sensor system in the Perekopsky Isthmus area (border with Ukraine) have been completed," - according to the FSB Crimean border department.
Planning and documentation development began in 2015. Currently, the construction and adjustment of the equipment has been completed. The security alarm system has been put into operation.
The FSB reported that the construction of the fence took place due to a number of threats, including attempts to overcome sabotage and reconnaissance groups from the Ukrainian side.
According to the interlocutor, the fence will prevent attempts to organize channels for cross-border movement of weapons, ammunition, goods, tobacco and alcohol, fuel, drug smuggling and violations of Ukrainian citizens on the state border.
