All manual kilns in the largest brick and tile village in Nghe An have been dismantled.
(Baonghean.vn) - Many brick and tile kilns in Nghia Hoan commune, Tan Ky district have been banned from operating since 2017, but because they have not been dismantled, they pose a potential safety risk. After a long period of mobilizing the people, up to now, the local government has dismantled 137 manual brick and tile kilns.

Thanks to that, most people have completed procedures to return land to the commune for management, many households voluntarilydismantling of handmade brick and tile kilns, households with financial difficulties were helped by Nghia Hoan commune to rent machinery to dismantle. |

Mr. Nguyen Huu Nga - owner of a tile production facility in Nghia Hoan commune said: My family has 2 tile kilns, following the State's policy, we have spent our own money to dismantle them. My family's wish is to receive financial support from the State to change careers and have a stable source of income. |

According to the report of the People's Committee of Nghia Hoan commune, up to this point, the Cua brick and tile craft village has completed dismantling all brick and tile kilns (dismantling 137 handmade brick and tile kilns/125 households). Of which, in the first phase (November 2022), 34 kilns were dismantled, in the second phase (from May 7-8, 2023), 32 kilns were dismantled, the remaining 71 kilns were voluntarily dismantled by the people. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Chairman of Nghia Hoan Commune People's Committee said that some difficulties still exist: The area of Cua brick and tile craft village currently has some areas of deep pits that have now become ponds, because people used to take soil as raw materials to produce bricks and tiles, however, due to financial difficulties, the commune has not been able to restore the land. On the other hand, the area of Cua brick and tile craft village is 37 hectares wide, after dismantling the brick kiln, households have not received financial support to change their occupations. The commune hopes that this land will be planned into a small and medium-sized industrial cluster to attract investment projects, in order to create jobs and increase income for local people. |
